Operational Risk Team Conducts Operational Risk & Fraud Awareness Training for New Joiners

On 24 June 2026, the Operational Risk Team conducted an in-person training session at the MCB Bank Sule Head Office for 10 new joiners, comprising Customer Service Assistants (CSAs) and Tellers.

The training covered fundamental knowledge of Operational Risk and Fraud Awareness, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for banking operations, Do’s and Don’ts, CEO Circulars, and other relevant internal policies and regulations.

The key objectives of the training were to:

  • Enhance staffs ‘understanding of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) required in banking operations and enable them to perform their duties in accordance with established procedures.
  • Increase awareness of the operational risks and disciplinary actions that may arise from violations of the Bank’s policies, regulations, and CEO Circulars.
  • Promote strict adherence to the required Do’s and Don’ts in banking operations to minimize Operational Risk and Fraud Risk, while fostering a strong Risk Culture throughout the Bank.

Through this training, employees will be able to:

  • Gain a clear understanding of banking operational processes and perform their responsibilities with greater confidence and competence.
  • Strengthen their Risk Awareness by identifying Operational Risks and Fraud Risks at an early stage and implementing effective preventive and control measures.
  • Reduce Operational Risk by complying with internal policies, CEO Circulars, and regulatory requirements.
  • Minimize operational errors, non-compliance, and the likelihood of fraud incidents.

This training is expected to strengthen employees’ Operational Risk Awareness and promote a strong Risk Culture, thereby supporting safer, more efficient, and more effective banking operations across the Bank.
