On January 17, 2025, the Compliance Team (Head Office) of Myanmar Citizens Bank Limited (MCB) conducted a training session on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Countering the Financing of Proliferation (CFP) as part of an awareness enhancement program. The training was provided to the bank’s new joiners, including Branch Managers, Second In-Charges, Operation In-Charges, Relationship Managers, Customer Service Associates, and Tellers.
The objectives of the training are as follows:
1. To enhance the compliance of bank staff with Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations issued by the Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM).
2. To provide a clearer understanding of the Anti-Money Laundering Law’s Sections.
3. To improve understanding and utilization of the AML system currently in use by the bank.
4. To develop a better understanding of Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) Red Flags and to identify qualified STRs in accordance with applicable standards.
As a result of the training provided by the Compliance Department, new joiners are now better equipped to comply with AML/CFT/CFP laws and procedures required by the bank’s operational processes at their respective branches.
The Compliance Department is committed to ensuring that all MCB staff effectively understand AML, CFT, and CFP topics, and continuous training programs will be implemented to reinforce practical knowledge and compliance.
